
What is WorkKeys? WorkKeys® system from ACT is being used in high schools across the country to help students understand how they can improve their skills for better-paying jobs. WorkKeys measures skills such as reading, math, listening, locating information, and teamwork—skills that employers feel are critical to job success. Students and job applicants who take the WorkKeys tests have a clear way to demonstrate their abilities to employers. WorkKeys scores help employers take the guesswork out of determining how qualified individuals are for positions in their organizations.WorkKeys is designed to measure students' career readiness as they prepare to enter the workforce by assessing their abilities in three core areas: Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information. These are high stakes test used to get a job, keep a job or job promotion.
Who is eligible to take the assessment? Students who complete a CTE Concentration in one of the 16 Career Clusters will be eligible to take the ACT WorkKeys Assessment to earn national certification in Career Readiness during his/her senior year of high school.
How do I earn the National Readiness Certification?
Once you receive your test scores, you must achieve the following levels on all three assessments in order to receive a National Career Readiness Certificate:
